Youtube is no longer being used just for entertainment. Students are using this platform for their studies, players for their coaching and artists for showcasing their art. Till some time ago YouTube did not allow downloading videos on SD card, but now it is not so. Now YouTube videos can be downloaded to the mobile’s SD card, which you can watch even without an internet connection. This feature is available for YouTube Premium subscribers in select countries.
How to download video on SD card?
To download a video from YouTube, you have to press the download button on the video watch page. To use this feature, it is necessary to have an SD card in the phone. To make SD card the default storage location for YouTube video downloads, some simple steps need to be followed. For this, first of all go to Settings by tapping on your profile picture on YouTube and then click on Background and Downloads. Enable the use SD card option from here.
If this is not done then the video will be stored on the internal storage
If the SD card option is not enabled then the video will be stored on the phone’s internal storage. YouTube does not allow transferring videos from internal storage to SD card, but there is a way to do this. For this, first of all you will have to delete the downloaded video on the internal storage. After this, go to settings and change the video storage location and download the video again. Now this video will be stored on the SD card instead of the phone’s internal storage. While downloading, keep in mind that there should be enough storage in the SD card to download the video. If this does not happen then the video will not be able to be downloaded.
