Instagram Adult Classifier Tool: Instagram is rolling out a new AI-powered tool that will help detect whether a child is lying about his or her age. The name of this tool is Adult Classifier. This tool will analyze profile information and determine whether a person is an adult or a teen. If AI feels that the user’s account is below the age of 18 years, then it will mark his account and make it a teen account. If the adult classifier detects that a teen is using this account, it will make that account private and prevent you from sending messages to strangers.
Recently Meta has announced in a blog post that it is working on a new AI-powered tool. This tool can help detect whether a child is lying about his or her age. The name of this tool is Adult Classifier. Many times users who sign up on Instagram lie about their age. But now this will be stopped.
Know how this feature will work
In fact, Meta says the Adult classifier can help determine whether a person is an adult (18 or older) or a teen (13 to 17) and will automatically apply appropriate privacy settings. This AI model analyzes profile information such as when the account was created and its content and interactions with other people. If AI feels that the user’s account is below the age of 18 years, then it will mark his account and make it a teen account.
If the adult classifier detects that a teen is using this account, it will make that account private and prevent you from sending messages to strangers. However, Meta has already changed some rules so that children cannot change these settings without their parents’ permission.
What to do if wrong account is banned?
If the Adult Classifier incorrectly identifies an account, you can appeal to Meta to remove it. For this you will have to upload your government ID or upload a selfie.
