ASUS Vivobook S15 Review in Hindi: Asus is rapidly strengthening its hold in the premium laptop market of India. A few months ago, Asus launched a new laptop in India, named ASUS Vivobook S15. Asus launched this laptop in two variants. One of its variants is equipped with 12th Gen Intel processor and the other comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor.
I have been reviewing the Snapdragon X Elite processor variant of this laptop for the last 15 days. Let us tell you about this ASUS Vivobook S15 with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in this article, after reading which you will be able to understand whether you should buy this laptop or not.
design
This laptop catches the attention of users with its attractive all-aluminum chassis design. The branding of ‘ASUS Vivobook’ is given on the top side of this laptop, which looks quite simple and is written in very small letters. However, the text written on the branding is bright and visible from different angles. This laptop comes with slim design. Its thickness is only 14.7mm. Its weight is also less, due to which it is proving to be a good portable laptop for the users.
This laptop has a full-size keyboard, which comes with a dedicated number pad. The company has made the number pad given in this laptop light and small, so that enough and more space can be available for the other buttons. I typed continuously for 5-6 hours on this laptop and I found it very easy and comfortable to type on it. Despite the laptop having a premium aluminum body, there is a textured black plastic bezel around the display, which slightly reduces its luxury feel.
display
ASUS Vivobook S15 has a 15-inch 3K OLED display. Its OLED panel delivers stunning contrast with deeper black shades and more realistic colors. Because of this, the content visible on the display looks quite good. The brightness of this display is also quite good. In the afternoon, in the harsh sunlight, I first went to my balcony and watched videos on its display and then went to the terrace and used the laptop in the harsh sunlight. During this period, I did not face any problem in viewing any content on the screen. The refresh rate of its display is also 120Hz, due to which scrolling is quite smooth.
However, the biggest drawback that I found in the screen of this laptop is the lack of touchscreen feature. Actually, touchscreen feature can be seen in the display of almost every brand of laptop coming in this price range. Therefore, I feel that Asus should have provided a touchscreen display in this laptop.
processor
The Vivobook S15 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. I used this laptop for about two weeks. During this time, I played many video games on this laptop for a long time, also browsed social media for hours, but I never faced any problem in terms of performance. I did many daily tasks like document editing, streaming and media playback on this laptop and I did not face any problem in that too. There was no problem even during video editing and rendering the edited video.
It runs quietly even during long multitasking. It includes Fan Speed Profiles like Full Speed and Performance Modes, which make it more useful. The laptop experience becomes even easier when you can pause work by turning off the display and then turn it back on to resume immediately. Therefore, we can say that there is no answer to this laptop in terms of performance.
AI tools available in this laptop
Nowadays it is the era of AI and in this era, users also check AI features before buying a laptop. Asus has also given many AI features in this laptop. Let us tell you about some AI tools, which we have used in the last two weeks. In an AI feature called Live Caption, you will be able to get real-time audio transcription for media content and video calls. We used this feature with Hindi and English videos on YouTube and our experience was good. Apart from this, you can also take advantage of live caption feature in third party apps like Google Meet, Zoom. While using this feature, we found that there were some mistakes in the transcription available in Hindi, but the accuracy of the English was fine. However, through this feature, audio input from the device’s in-built microphone can also be transcribed, but we did not use this feature.
Apart from this, Cocreator in Paint of this laptop, which has been rebranded as Restyle in Photos app. It is much more than a simple AI image generator. It creates images by combining sketches and text prompts. There is a Restyle feature in the Photos app. Through this, users can change the existing image with the help of text prompt. Although with the help of this feature, excellent results can be seen in face pictures, but if you use this feature in landscape images then you will not get such good results. Apart from this, StoryCube feature is also provided in this laptop, which organizes media files into searchable sections and is capable of creating highlight videos from existing images.
Speaker and audio quality
This laptop has a bottom-firing dual-speaker system co-engineered with Harman Kardon. Its sound quality is quite loud, clear and crisp. This laptop supports Dolby Atmos surround sound and also includes a dedicated headphone jack. If you want to do gaming or video streaming then I recommend that you use external speakers and headphones. With this you will be able to experience better.
However, in this price range the loudness of its audio could have been a little higher. Although, I found the sound of the speaker quite good while watching video content on YouTube, Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar in indoor conditions, but perhaps the loudness of the speakers may be less in outdoor conditions. To improve this, you can use the MyASUS app present in this laptop, which has an option named Volume Booster. With the help of this feature you can increase the volume.
MyASUS App
ASUS has provided some interesting customization features through the MyASUS app. One of these special features is Target Mode, which keeps the active window in full brightness and dims the rest of the screen, so that the battery can be saved. If you are working on a single app or window then this feature becomes quite useful. Apart from this, Adaptive Edge Brightness feature is also provided in it, which reduces the brightness around the screen.
This feature is especially useful when you’re working in the same app or window. However, its effect is slightly reduced in a split-screen setup. To solve this, ASUS has provided Adaptive Edge Brightness feature, which slightly dims the edges of the screen and keeps the main workspace bright.
Battery and Charging
This Asus laptop has a 70Wh battery. This is the biggest feature of this laptop. I charged this laptop to 90% at 8 am and used it continuously till 6 pm. During this time, I did official work by opening more than 30 tabs in it. Apart from this, watched videos for about 2-3 hours, listened to music for 6-7 hours, edited 3 videos of about 2-2 minutes each.
Even after doing all this, there was still 19% battery left in the laptop at 6 pm. This means that the battery backup of this laptop is quite excellent and you can use this laptop normally for about 9-10 hours continuously. Apart from this, it also takes less than 2 hours to fully charge it and hence we feel that its charging speed is much higher than other laptops.
our conclusion
The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite variant of ASUS Vivobook S15 is good in terms of performance, thermal efficiency, AI features, display, design, audio, video calling and battery life. However, some of its software optimizations need improvement. However, it would have been better if this laptop had a touchscreen display and 360 degree turning facility.
The price of this laptop is ₹ 1,24,990. This is especially beneficial for those looking for a laptop with long term durability and modern features. This laptop is especially beneficial for those who are looking for a laptop with long term durability and modern features. Overall, this laptop is good enough for official work, video streaming and some editing, which can last for many years. However, if you need a laptop for hardcore gaming and editing then you can look at some other option.
